Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working together, from planning to perks to award travel.

01

Working Together

What kind of traveler do you work with? +
I work mostly with families, multigenerational groups, and couples who are looking for more than a basic booking. If you value having every detail thought through, want your accommodations and experiences to actually match how you travel, and would rather show up and be present than spend weeks managing logistics, we'll work well together.
How do we get started? +
It starts with a quick inquiry. You'll share your destination, travel dates, group size, and any initial ideas or must-haves. From there I'll reach out to learn more about how you like to travel and whether we're a good fit. Once we're aligned, I'll provide a planning retainer to secure your spot and we begin.
How far in advance should I reach out? +
For international trips, especially during peak seasons or school holidays, I recommend reaching out four to six months in advance. Popular hotels and limited-capacity experiences can book up quickly. That said, I've also planned trips on shorter timelines when availability cooperates.
What destinations do you specialize in? +
I've traveled extensively across Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Caribbean. I bring firsthand knowledge to destinations like Italy, France, Thailand, and the Greek islands, and I stay current on emerging hotels and experiences in other regions. If there's somewhere specific you have in mind, just ask.
What does the planning process look like? +
After the retainer is received, I'll send a short intake questionnaire so I can understand how you like to travel, what matters most to you, and any non-negotiables. From there I build a tailored itinerary with hotel recommendations, experiences, and a suggested day-by-day flow. We refine together until it feels exactly right, and then I handle all the bookings.

Services & Bookings

Do you book flights? +
I don't typically book cash flights, but I do offer award travel strategy and booking guidance as a separate service. If you're looking to use points for premium cabin flights, that's something I can help with.
Do you book cruises? +
Yes. I've personally sailed more than 20 times with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, and cruises remain one of my favorite ways to travel. I bring that firsthand knowledge to help with cabin selection, itinerary planning, dining, excursions, and Virtuoso Voyages perks where available.
Can you book private villas? +
Villas are one of my specialties. I have experience sourcing and booking properties that come with dedicated staff teams including villa managers, concierges, private chefs, and housekeeping. The full-service villa experience is something I particularly love putting together.
What if cruise prices drop after I book? +
Cruise fares can change quickly, and timing matters. If you spot a price drop or promotion, reach out and I'll respond same-day to review your options and take action. Having an advisor means you're never waiting on hold with a call center when a rate is about to expire.
Do you arrange travel insurance? +
Yes, I can assist with travel insurance as part of your overall trip planning. It's something I always recommend, especially for international travel and high-value trips.

The Perks

What's the advantage of working with a Fora advisor? +
Fora is one of the most respected travel networks in the industry, with preferred partnerships at thousands of hotels and properties worldwide. As a Fora advisor, I have access to rates, perks, and supplier relationships that independent advisors and online booking platforms simply can't match. It means your booking carries more weight, and you benefit from it through upgrades, amenities, and a level of attention from hotel teams that comes from being recognized as a valued partner guest.
What perks can you offer on hotels? +
For hotels booked through my partner network, you may be eligible for exclusive perks that simply aren't available when booking direct, including complimentary breakfast, room upgrades, early check-in and late check-out, welcome amenities, and hotel credits. These vary by property, but they have a way of making an already great trip feel that little bit more special.
What perks can you offer on cruises? +
It depends on the cruise line, but through the Virtuoso Voyages program, travelers booking with a Virtuoso advisor can receive some genuinely special benefits beyond the standard package. Perks include dedicated onboard hosts, a private welcome reception, exclusive shore excursions (from VIP tours to outings with a private car and driver), shipboard credits, and specialty dining options. It's one of those situations where booking through an advisor really does make a tangible difference to your experience onboard.
Are these perks guaranteed? +
Partner perks are subject to availability and vary by property and can't always be guaranteed, but I'll always let you know what's been requested and confirmed for your stay. Even when a perk isn't available, booking through a preferred partner often comes with a higher level of attention from the hotel's team.
Does using a travel advisor cost more than booking direct? +
Not typically, and sometimes we can do even better. In some cases I'm able to access a preferred rate that's lower than what's publicly available. More often, the rate is the same as booking direct, but comes with extras you simply wouldn't get on your own: complimentary breakfast, specialty dining credits, hotel credits, or cruise credits. So you're either paying less, or getting more for the same price.

Award Travel Strategy

Turn your points into flights that elevate the journey

04

How It Works

Do you book the flights? +
No. This service provides the research and step-by-step booking instructions. You complete the booking yourself once the points are transferred, keeping the process clean and ensuring you retain full control of your accounts.
Which airline programs do you search? +
All major airline loyalty programs and transferable point programs, including Chase Ultimate Rewards, Amex Membership Rewards, Capital One Miles, Citi ThankYou Points, and Bilt Rewards, as well as airline-specific programs.
What if availability changes before I book? +
Every report includes a backup strategy with alternate routes, dates, or nearby airports. If your primary options disappear before you complete the booking, updated research is available.
Can this be combined with full trip planning? +
Absolutely. For multi-city itineraries or bespoke packages, award flight options are included as part of your finalized travel plan — so your flights and hotels are coordinated from the start rather than figured out separately.
05

Pricing & Deliverables

What's included in the award research? +
You receive six deliverables: a points and program summary, award seat availability report, flight option comparison, transfer plan, step-by-step booking instructions, and a backup strategy in case availability changes. All recommendations are evaluated against cash pricing to confirm value.
How much does award research cost? +
$150 for economy cabin research (up to 4 travelers) and $300 for premium cabins like business or first class (up to 2 travelers). Complex multi-city routes or larger groups are quoted individually. One-time fee per trip, no subscriptions.
How quickly do I receive the report? +
Standalone award research is delivered within 1 business day of completed intake. For multi-city itineraries or bespoke packages, award flight options are included as part of your finalized travel plan.
What if I need help with a complex route? +
Multi-city routes, positioning flights, or large group bookings require custom scoping. Reach out with your details and I'll provide a quote and timeline specific to your needs.
